Since my last post, my heart has set on going back to the UK to record RoundTable sessions for as many new languages as I can in the multilingual city of London, as well as workshops throughout Britain!
Presential workshops offer a learning experience quite unlike any other, which can be offered to employees in-company, through organisations, institutions, interest groups and more. Be it an in-house treat or part of an imperative endeavor to get a workforce functional in a new language, monetised workshops are high-value events which support Language Transfer & The Thinking Method by helping me develop new material, to give charitable free workshops and make RoundTable events on tour.
I’m especially excited about visiting secondary schools in Greater London (which is where I grew up) and hopefully offering to as many teenagers as I can the joy and empowerment of transcendental learning, which I know would have benefitted me so much in those years… to open up my mind and world as languages do. For this trip I understand it might be tight timing for the paperwork schools need to do to access any funding for such a visit and so pretty much any school that applies to the waiver, if I can get to you I will! Please spread the word and help the right people understand just how likely an LT workshop is to raise grades all round, to motivate new learners, and to make teachers’ lives easier nationwide!
Speaking of fees and waivers, for old time LT fans there may be some explaining to do! The general indiscriminate offer to give open public workshops that I have made previously is no more. The fee waiver is open to all types of organisations but the aim will now be to monetise workshops - to the max. Free workshops are unfortunately easily dismissed as valueless, and I have had too many occasions of travelling for an empty workshop that the host organisation ‘forgot’ to promote because it was free. Meanwhile, here I am slaving away whilst I casually notice swaths of funds dancing between all kinds of organisations that don’t have the impact LT does. I’m done passing up LT’s piece of the cake as if it meant someone hungrier would eat. Considering all the digital material is available freely, I will be seeking forever higher paid presential events to generate funds to make all this creation easier, and now unabashedly so. That means the current prices displayed are just starter prices, and hopefully one day I’ll be paid half as much to speak as Hillary Clinton. That said, I am genuinely motivated by impact rather than money and so the waiver is there for any institution that doesn’t have access to extra funds and where the collaboration guarantees a wide impact (high schools enter automatically into this high-impact category).
The workshops are theoretically available internationally but there is no guarantee I can accommodate all travel. Please get in contact for inquiries.
I am currently planning a UK tour for this autum/winter, in which I hope to focus on visits to secondary schools especially in Greater London. Heads of department, please do apply for the waiver if there are no funds available for such workshops (or if accessing them would take too long!).
You should 100% be monetising your live workshops! Schools have money!! I'm in NZ and schools have money. They should too in the UK! Schools send staff out for professional development all the time, and some of those PDs are expensive. Schools would be wise to have you join them, and they can totally afford you! I've shared this with my UK teacher friends. Good luck !!
Sounds amazing 😍.
Wishing you all the best in this endeavour. I wish I would have had something like this in my double periods of french. Hopefully you can revolutionise how language is taught in schools!!
